Pinterest Loves #6

"Prints I love" Version

Hey Everyone! & Welcome new followers! I've been so busy this week and haven't been able to post.. no worries, I'll be back this weekend! I had a bridal shower this past weekend, a midterm tomorrow and a paper due on Friday...+ wedding planning stuff I still need to get done. but good news: {bridal shower pics} coming soon!
Today, I decided to share some "sayings" or "prints" that I absolutely love or think are absolutely hillarious! Check em' out!
so funny.
this is so true (:
I love this too! I don't understand why some people don't wear their wedding rings.
Noland & I have agreed to always wear ours when we are married
I honestly believe this to be a true statement. As someone who has struggled
with depression and anxiety.. We have to choose to be happy.. and you are..
Sometimes you have to "fake it to make it" but God is good and he is always there.
I totally need one of these signs.. so funny.
words to live by
need this for the bathroom.
agreed Al.
I love this. its so true.
Ok well these are all pinned on my pinterest in the Prints I love section: here so go check it out!
That's all for me today.. I'm back to my studies! Thanks for stoppin' by & I promise to have something more fun this weekend!

I was given "The Versatile Blogger Award"

So excited and so thankful that I was given the Versatile Blogger award from Pinkapotamus! You are awesome & I am just beyond thankful!
So now, its my turn to share the rules of the award: 7 things about me and  pass on the award to 15 bloggers!

7 Fun Facts about me:
1. Baseball is my favorite sport and I'm watching the World Series as I type this. I am a Baltimore Orioles fan and I also love the Texas Rangers so GO RANGERS!
2. I am a neat freak. I think I may have a phobia of messes... I know it sounds weird right but I can't stand sitting in a messy room. I feel bad but its just the way I am... I would love to be a professional organizer of other people's stuff haha.
3. My birthday is June 9.. and I will be 24...
4. When I have kids, I want their birthdays to be in the Fall or Spring so they can be at school with their friends and celebrate. I'm thankful for the gift of life and a birthday but it was always a downer that I never got to celebrate my b-day at school. hahaha. Random? I know.
5. My favorite colors are pink and orange but I also really like grays and yellows.
6. My favorite animal is an elephant, I also enjoy elephant accessories like jewelry with an elephant on it... or something.
7. I am addicted to pinterest. Its a serious problem. I get on it during class at grad school sometimes.. I know, its horrible.. but they just have so many amazing ideas.. "I wish I would have thought of that"

15 bloggers that I am awarding with the Versatile Blogger award
"and the award goes to":

That's all for now...

Cup of Coffee Cake (in 5 minutes)

Well if you are like me, there are times when you get those crazy cravings at 7:30pm-ish/an hour or 2 after dinner time... for something sweet. Noland, my fiance, is more of an ice cream man but I'm a cake lady myself.. Cake is my favorite! so I found this lil cup of joy..and decided to share!
of course, I topped off mine with some Cookies and Cream ice cream... yum
This literally took no longer than 5 minutes and it was so delicious..
Ingredients:
for the cake:
1 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoons of sugar
I used 1/2 an egg (this is optional)
2 tablespoons of sour cream
a few drops of vanilla
1/4 cup of flour
1/8 tablespoon baking powder

crumbly topping:
1 tablespoon of butter
2 tablespoons of flour
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Directions:
1. Grab your coffee cup and add a table spoon of butter.. put it in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds and soften.. Don't melt.
2. Stir in 2 tablespoons of sugar
3. Now add some egg. This is optional because without egg, it's more crumbly and less cake-y. I broke the egg in half (if you are making 2, this works well because you can split the egg between 2 cups)
4. Then stir in 2 tablespoons of sour cream and a few drops of vanilla
5. Stir in 1/4 cup of flour and 1/8 teaspoon of baking powder

And for the crumbly topping...
1. In a separate cup, add 1 tablespoon of butter, 2 tablespoons of flour, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon.
Smoosh this all together with your fingers...or a fork
Now to cook...
When you ingredients are all mixed up. Add the crumb topping to the mixture.
Now I put mine in the microwave for 1 minute and 20 seconds... give or take
I moved mine to another coffee cup so you could see the cake-y-ness of it.
I also topped mine off with a scoop of ice cream.. yummy goodness.
and there you have it...
Oh.. and shout out to Prudent Baby who invented this magical deliciousness
& a few clarifications:
- it is safe to cook egg in the microwave, even if only for a a few minutes
- you can use yogurt instead of sour cream.. Not everyone has sour cream laying around the house.
Thanks for stoppin' by...
xoxo Jen.

DIY Gift Bows

So I discovered these here and have been wanting to try them! So here's the scoop on how to do this... so easy & awesome!
Supplies:

scissors
tape
pencil & ruler (or paper cutter like one you would use for scrapbooking)
some paper that you want to make into a bow (you could even use newspaper)

Directions:
1. Cut paper into 3/4 inch strips
2. I used tape to tape them like this:
here's a tip from Lines across my Face:
I also made mine different sizes so it might help to make them fit together better...
3. tape two together.. one inside the other like this:
4. put the smaller one inside the larger and tape in the center:
5. and then you will need to make one more little figure 8 piece to tape in the middle and it should look like this:
6. Finally add to your gift or spruce up  a gift bag like these:

and you can even do them with newspaper and her kid's artwork like
 Lines across my Face did:

That's all for today, now go make some bows for your gifts!!!
& before I go, I wanted to mention, I will be doing a giveaway soon. One on my site and one at marietea so if you are not already, you should follow our sites and be on the lookout cause it's going to be sweet & free!
xoxo Jen.
